Upon arrival, the technician was informed of a reported gas smell near the tankless water heater. The technician performed a thorough inspection of the unit and surrounding gas connections but was not able to detect or confirm any active gas leaks at the time of service. The technician then removed the front panel of the tankless water heater, performed an internal inspection, and cleaned the water inlet filter to help maintain proper operation and water flow. The technician also thoroughly flushed the tankless water heater in an effort to remove built-up sediment and mineral accumulation from the system. No replacement parts were included with this service, and no warranty is provided on any existing components due to the age and condition of the unit. Findings: Shower/Tub Valve: The temperature handle is loose and spins continuously without proper control. This indicates an issue with the handle connection and/or cartridge installation (possibly stripped handle adapter, missing set screw engagement, or improperly installed cartridge). Bathroom Sink Tubular Piping: A minor water leak is present beneath the sink at the tubular connections. JIG Plumbing will install two new PVC unions on an irrigation line. Technician will prefabricate the valve portion as the cement cures, then install the customer supplied irrigation valve. The water will then be turned on, as the installation will be inspected to ensure no leaks occur.

Pressure relief that was filling on one year-old water heater that we installed. check pressure with my gauge at Hobe in front of house coming off main service line. Pressure was at 140 psi. I will be coming back to do repairs on pressure the PRV and the pressure relief valve and a faucet and another repair Monday. Replacement with same size and type as existing P.R.V. At this time we will warranty out the T&P valve that failed due to high pressure. We will also install customer supplied faucet and 2 shower heads as previously agreed on. The emergency shut off valves to the downstairs faucet that we are replacing do not shut off completely. With the customers approval, we will replace both threaded shut off valves. When the technician removed the hot side valve, the pipe twisted in the wall. The male adapter was not exposed so there was no way to back up the valve when removing. Upon arrival, the customer showed the technician two shower valves, one upstairs and one downstairs. The valves do not operate as they ought to. JIG Plumbing will return and replace both shower valves with Moen Posi Temp shower valves, chrome finish. We will open the tile from the front to avoid drywall removal. We will replace the shower valves, trim plates, handles, tub spouts, shower arms, and shower heads. We will not replace any of the copper supply piping for the showers, or replace the copper piping leading to the tub spouts or shower heads. Once the valves and trim are installed, we will check functionality and ensure the pressure is adequate. We will provide the customer with the option to remove the restrictors, if they desire more pressure. Although we use a filtered vacuum while we cut tile to avoid dust, some dust in the restrooms is unavoidable.

Jig Plumbing will arrive to repair a section of a drain pipe and fitting that is cracked . The wall has two open section cut out by previous plumbing company. We will install a thermal expansion tank on the water heater to regulate the pressure to the home in accounting for thermal expansion. This will also help extend the lifespan of your water heater. We will replace the emergency shut off valve in your master bathroom, left side sink, hot valve. The valve is corroded.

The technician removed the existing section of piping from the copper stub-out to the PVC connection, including all galvanized piping in this section. The system was upgraded with new copper piping, utilizing pro press fittings for all connections to ensure a secure and efficient installation. The relight attempt was unsuccessful. The pilot would not remain lit, indicating a thermopile failure. Replacing the thermopile OR replacing the water heater is recommended.

This upgrade will help prevent future leaks, reduce the risk of additional pipe failures, and avoid ongoing repair issues. The full repipe will include installation of three new shower valves, new hose bibs, and new emergency shutoff valves for both hot and cold water systems, along with a new pressure reducing valve (PRV). All new water lines will be installed using PEX piping with copper stub-outs for durability and reliability.
